Write a short noise brief
- Property: HDB, condominium, landed or another type; identify the affected room.
- Sound: describe what you hear and where it seems to come from.
- Timing: note the usual times, duration and impact on your routine.
- Conditions: say whether windows and doors are open or closed when it happens.
- Priority: identify the room or disturbance that matters most.
Keep the initial message relevant. Avoid sending identity documents or unrelated household details. Share only the photographs and information needed to discuss the opening.
Take useful photographs safely
- A wide photograph of the full opening from inside the room.
- A closer photograph showing the frame and closed panels.
- A view of existing grilles, curtains or blinds and the surrounding wall.
- Any visible issue you can photograph safely, without removing parts.
Do not lean outside, climb onto furniture or dismantle fittings for a photograph. Approximate dimensions are helpful only if you can obtain them safely; final measurements belong in the agreed assessment and design process.
What is optional
A short recording can illustrate the type of sound, but phone processing and playback limit what it establishes. It is not a certified acoustic measurement and does not need to be converted into a promised window rating.
Existing management correspondence or property requirements can be helpful. If you have a supplier report or an earlier quote, identify which opening and configuration it describes.
Questions for the discussion
- Is the window opening likely to be an important sound path?
- What arrangement is being proposed, and why?
- What are the limitations and other paths to consider?
- What property checks and access arrangements are needed?
- What is required before a final measured quotation?
An initial message helps prepare the conversation. It does not by itself establish suitability, a guaranteed result or a final price.

About this checklist
This is a general planning checklist. Project prices, lead times, products, warranties and final suitability must be confirmed for the actual quotation and site. It does not introduce new commercial terms.
